LIVINGSTON, Mont. – Doreen V. “Vicki” Libbey, 62, of Livingston, a member of the Libbey Mill family, died at her home Tuesday, May 22.

Vicki was born Feb. 21, 1945, in Hebron, N.D., the daughter of Frank and Mathilda (Jose) Kokot. She spent her early life and attended schools there before moving with her mother to Livingston, where she completed her education. On Sept. 19, 1960, she married Channell T. “Chan” Libbey II. They made Livingston their home and she became devoted to raising and nurturing their family.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Chapter BW of the PEO Sisterhood, the Ladies of the Elks Auxiliary and the Livingston Golf and Country Club. She always enjoyed having fun playing golf, fishing or just driving her little red convertible. She was the consummate shopper and always savored the pursuit of the latest fashions in clothing and jewelry.

As an accomplished seamstress and knitter she provided many clothes for her children as they were growing up. She was a masterful cook whose motto was “I love you, eat,” never letting anyone go hungry. She and her husband also enjoyed traveling. She opened her heart to many and will be remembered for her incredible kindness and love of life. She was greatly loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her husband, Chan Libbey II of Livingston; two sons, Channell T. (Pam) Libbey III of Paradise Valley and Brennan O’Neil (Julie) Libbey of Venice, Calif.; three daughters, Cassandra Mary (James) Osborn of Missoula, Tamara Kae Libbey (Dennis Curtin) of St. Croix, USVI, and Wendla Sue (Erik) Hoiness of Livingston; three granddaughters, Layne Fisher, Lydia Wilcox and Ava Libbey; a grandson, William Chan Hoiness, expected soon; a brother, Frank (Kathy) Kokot of Livingston; two sisters, Frances (Benny) Becker of Mandan, N.D., and Mary (Ernie) Schantz of Hebron, N.D.; her mother-in-law, Mary Libbey of Bozeman, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father; mother; stepfather, Martin Monson; brother, Walter Kokot; and sister, Gertrude Bleth.
