GREENE – James M. Wood, 48, of Richard Street, Greene, died Wednesday, May 30, at his home with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Lewiston on Sept. 2, 1958, the son of John J. and Irene J. (Crowley) Wood. He attended St. Patrick’s Parochial School and Lewiston High School.
He loved the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing, especially in Mount Vernon. He loved walks by the ocean, skydiving and watching the Red Sox and Patriots. He also enjoyed lottery “scratch tickets.”
During the past 30 years, he worked at Pioneer Plastics, Allied Container and Bath Iron Works.
He is survived by his long-time companion, Sherrill Fitch of Jay; his son, Matthew J. Wood, and his wife, Michelle, of Scarborough; his daughter, Janice D. Wood of Scarborough; two sisters, Kathy (Wood) LaMore, and her husband, Steve and Sandra Wood, both of Lewiston; many nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Kathy (Footer) Wood of Scarborough.
He was predeceased by both his parents, John and Irene Wood.
