LEWISTON – Lionel E. Blanchette, 86, a resident of 460 Minot Ave., Auburn, died Tuesday, May 8, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
He was born in Lewiston, Sept. 19, 1920, the son of Albany and Rose Alba (Plante) Blanchette. He was a member of St. Louis Church, and married the former Lumina Rouseau on Nov. 11, 1944. She died on Oct. 1, 2004.
He had been employed as a gas maker for the former Lewiston Gas & Light Co., and in later years co-owned Washington Street Mobile Home Park.
Survivors include one son, Robert Blanchette, and his wife, Anita, of Lewiston; one daughter, Therese Clancy, and her husband, Terry, of New Gloucester; and three grandchildren, Eric Clancy and Peter and Julie Blanchette.
