NORWAY – Marion F. Mathews, 89, of South Paris, died Saturday, April 28, at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway with her family and a special friend by her side.
She was born in Freedom, N.H. on Nov. 13, 1917, the daughter of Fred H. and Mabel (Judkins) Bucknell.
Marion worked as an administrative assistant, and owned and operated her own fabric store.
She was a member of the Second Congregational Church of Norway, Senior Companions, hospice volunteer, University of Maine Senior College in Bridgton, Board of the University of Maine, Community Lunch Program in Norway, Norway budget committee and AARP.
She was a caregiver to all, and loved to travel.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Wilson and her husband, Joe, of Springfield, Vt.; a son, Gary Scott Mathews of Derry, N.H.; very special and loving friend, Verna Pendexter of North Norway; a sister, Alice E. Wadsworth of Hiram; a brother, F. Harold Bucknell of Hiram; a grandson, James Mathews of Exeter, N.H.; and a great-granddaughter, Madison Mathews of New Hampshire.
Marion was predeceased by two sisters, Edith Stevens and Helen Gillis; and two brothers, Arthur Bucknell and George Bucknell.
