RUMFORD – Peter A. McKenna died Saturday, April 21, at Rumford Community Hospital, following a long illness.

He was born in Rumford, Oct. 17, 1936, the son of James E. McKenna and Margaret M. Broderick McKenna. He graduated from local schools and graduated from the University of Maine with a bachelor’s degree and received a master’s degree from St. Anselm College in Manchester, N.H.

He is survived by his wife, Rose McKenna and family; a sister, Jean Libby and family, of Rumford; a brother, the Rev. Joseph R. McKenna of Portland; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, James and Lewis.
