WELLS – Vernon A. McQuinn Jr., 80, of Webhannet Drive, died Monday night, April 23, at his residence, with his loving wife by his side, following a battle with cancer.

He was born in Bar Harbor, March 23, 1927, a son of Vernon A. Sr. and Mabel (Butler) McQuinn. He received his primary education in the Bar Harbor school system, graduating in 1948, and also graduated from the Vesper George School of Art, Boston, Mass.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II. For many years, he was employed as an insurance agent for the W.T. Jones Insurance Company of Philadelphia, retiring in 1993.

His first wife, Ann Jones McQuinn, died in 1984. On Dec. 9, 1989, he married Patricia Morrison Bragdon in Wells. He enjoyed art, woodcarving, family gatherings, fishing, golf and walking along the beach.

Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia, of Wells; a son, Bruce McQuinn of Ambler, Pa.; three daughters, Laura McQuinn of Radnor, Pa., Caroline Shirk of Milton, Pa., and Amy Windish of Chalfont, Pa.; three stepdaughters, Martha Connolly of Poland, Linda Litchfield of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Rebecca Wright of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two stepsons, Robert G. Bragdon of Wells, and Charles M. Bragdon of Wells; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
