LIVERMORE FALLS – Lucien Pomeroy, 93, a longtime resident of Livermore Falls, died suddenly Friday, April 20, at his home.

He was born in Livermore Falls on April 15, 1914, the son of Hosie and Marie Pomeroy, and attended local schools.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a mortar man during World War II in Germany. He saw service in the Battle of the Bulge and was wounded twice.

In 1935, he married Marion Richards. She passed away in 1988.

He was self-employed as a poultry farmer, lumberman and also operated a slaughterhouse.

He was a former member of the VFW Post No. 3335 of Jay, and the Lions Club of Livermore Falls. Lucien loved to play card games, especially “Frustration.”

He is survived by a son, Donald “Buster” Pomeroy of Jay; four daughters, Nancy Webster of Livermore Falls, Joyce Alfaro and her husband, Herb, of Detroit, Mich., Carol Morris and her husband, Doug, of Leeds, and Sandy Porter of Monmouth; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
