Portland – Edwin C. Keene, 76, of Windham, died April 10 at Maine Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 12, 1930, in West Turner, the son of Linwood W. and Mabelle (Bumpus) Keene.
He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He went on to become a truck driver for Isaacson Lumber. He later retired as a self-employed draft horse logger. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed riding horses and working with draft horses, especially at the fair, going out to dinner with friends and family, and socializing with all.
He is survived by his sons, Edwin C. Jr. of Turner, Kenneth R. and his wife Shawn, Gregory Keene and his wife, Kim, of Livermore; daughters, Debbie Hancock and her husband, Joe, of Livermore, Faye Bellefleur and husband, Robert, of Madison, Edna Morris of Lewiston, and Jenny Lin Keene of Woodstock; brother, Robert James Lucky of Pennsylvania; sister Eva Riggs of Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three stepgranchildren; and three stepgreat-grand children.
He was predeceased by his loving companion Lorraine Brown; brother Harold Keene of Milford; sisters Bertha Sennett and Merna Bonney.
