AUBURN – Richard Jerome Roux, 67, passed away Tuesday, March 27, in Auburn.
He was born in Augusta, April 14, 1939, the son of Albert Laureat and Dorothy Mae (Taylor) Roux. He graduated from Lewiston High School.
He worked in local shoe shops, was a forklift operator, drove for City Cab, and once even held the unofficial title of mayor of Main Street in Auburn.
He was a lover of sports cards and collectible coins, and spent many happy years adding to his collections. He also enjoyed bowling, hunting, trying his luck at scratch-card tickets and spending time with his numerous friends and family members. He was a devoted and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege to meet him.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Diane Judy (Bouchard) Roux, of Lewiston; sons, Vince Nickerson and wife, Bonnie, of Florida, Gene Nickerson and wife, Lesa, of Florida, and Albert Roux Sr. of Lewiston; daughters, Lisa Gregory and Rick Gregory, of Poland, Dianna Gibbens and husband, Zack, of Lewiston, Dorothy Langlois and husband, Albert, of Leeds; grandchildren, Ryan, Michelle, Justin, Kristina, John, Kayla, Hillary, Holly, Matthew, Zachary, Nicholas, Courtney, Nakita, Cordell, Raelynn, Kirri, Dominic and Albert Jr.; and a great-granddaughter, Aleeha; cousins Leroy and Roger Walker; nephews Brian and John; and nieces, Pam, Deedee, Wendy and Cindy.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, Albert Laureat and Dorothy Mae (Taylor) Roux; his brother, Robert Roux; and also by an aunt he considered a mother, Pauline Walker.
