Lewiston – Robert A. Brown, 73, of Greene, died March 23, with his family by his side.
He was born in Greene, Dec. 25, 1933, the son of James and Luella (McDonald) Brown. He was a graduate of Edward Little High School. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict.
On Nov. 23, 1957, he married Colleen A. Bartlett, of Mexico.
He was a stock car driver and flagger. He then embarked on his career of a tractor-trailer driver and drove for several companies, including B&E Motor Express, Fox and Ginn, and New Penn, where he retired. He was a member of the Teamsters and the Shriners.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but his greatest joy was his family, especially his granddaughters, Meghan and Katie.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen of Greene; his son, Robert and his wife, Eva, of Worcester, Mass.; his daughter, Susan Murphy and her husband, Phillip, of Greene; his two granddaughters, Meghan Murphy of Greene, and Katie Brown of Worcester, Mass.; his sisters, Geraldine Crouse of Edgewood, Fla., and Elizabeth O’Connor and husband, Robert, of Minot; his sisters-in-law, Marie Brown, Sandy Delisle and husband, Bill, and Maureen Arsenault; brothers-in-law, Donald Bartlett and wife, Sheila, and John Bartlett; and by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, James Brown; and his sister Carolyn Champa.
