UNITY, N.H. – Alice M. Turgeon, 87, passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, March 8, at the Sullivan County Nursing Home, where she had been residing since 1999.

Alice was born in Berlin, N.H., on May 2, 1919, a daughter of the late Onile and Albina (Marcotte) Lauziere. After attending local Berlin schools, Alice married Armand L. Turgeon on June 10, 1940.

Together they owned and operated the Berkshire Manor in Gorham from the mid-1970s to the late 1990s. In addition to owning her own business, Alice was extremely devoted to her family and was a caregiver to several, especially Juliette Gosselin for more than 15 years.

Alice also loved to walk and enjoyed the great outdoors immensely.

She was a longtime communicant of Holy Family Parish in Gorham.

Alice is survived by her three sons, Richard Turgeon of Douglasville, Pa., Roland Turgeon of Gorham, N.H. and Ronald Turgeon of Berlin, N.H.; her two daughters, Jeannine Fortier of Casa Grande, Ariz. and Louise Wagner of Croyden; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Armand Turgeon, her four brothers, Norman Lauziere, Robert Lauziere, Brother Onile Lauziere and Lucien Lauziere; and three sisters, Maria Lauziere, Marie Anne Lauziere and Sister Cecile Lauziere.
