AUBURN – Fleurette Jacqueline Labbay, 76, of Auburn, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Home.

She was born to Rose (Cote) and Noel Laplante on Dec. 8, 1930, in Lewiston.

She attended and graduated from St. Peter’s School. On Sept. 4, 1951, she married the love of her life, Ludovic (Lucky) Labbay.

She spent her working years in local shoe shops, such as Federal Shoe, Knapp Shoe and Falcon Shoe, which she retired from in 1993. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Auburn. Her faith throughout the years remained very strong until her death. She was also a member of the Golden Age Club and the K of C Ladies Auxiliary No. 106.

In her earlier years, she performed with great enthusiasm and joy as a duo with her sister, Delores, known as the Dolly Sisters.

She loved playing cards and was a tough one to beat. She also enjoyed playing Beano and going to Las Vegas. Most of all, she enjoyed the time spent with her family and particularly loved the holidays with them.

She will be sadly missed by all.

She is survived by her two children, Jacqueline Grant and fiancé, Gary Sacco, of New Gloucester, and Dana Labbay and wife, Rachel, of East Poland; her grandchildren, Staff Sgt. Eric Grant and wife, Jessica, of Alamogordo, N.M., Timothy Grant and companion, Theresa Cook, of New Gloucester, Curtis Labbay of Rochester, N.H., and Danielle Girouard of East Poland; one very special great-granddaughter, Dusti Rea Grant of Alamogordo, N.M.; and Devin Bailey of New Gloucester; two sisters, Delores Dumont of Lewiston and Priscilla of New Castle, Ind.; and three brothers, Maurice and wife, Jeannine, and Robert and wife, Carol, all of Lewiston, and Richard and wife, Arlene, of Auburn.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Lucky; her parents, Noel and Rose Laplante; and a brother, Raymond.
