EAST WINTHROP – Leon Scott Routh, 45, of Monmouth, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, as the result of a car accident in East Winthrop.
He was born in Augusta June 28, 1961, the son of Roger Bonefant and Mary E. Routh. He was a 1979 honors graduate of Cony High School. He worked for a short time at Giguere’s Market before starting a career as a computer engineering technician at Digital, later Sanmina SCI. He had been semi-retired since the closing of SCI.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was active in the United Bikers of Maine. He was known as a fun-loving and caring person. He loved life and people but especially his family and friends.
He had a special friend in his cat, “Akasha”
He is survived by his fiancé, Loretta Tucci; his mother, Mary E. Routh Cobbs, and her husband, Cobby, of Augusta; his brothers, Ricky Bonefant, and his companion, Rhonda and Brent Bonefant, and his wife, Kelly, of Mount Vernon; his sisters, Beth Rae Gelerman of Somerset, Mass., and Lynn Reed, and her companion, Mitch, of Readfield; his aunts and uncles, Stanley Hisler, and his wife, Donna, of Chicago, Andrew Hisler, and his wife, Joyce, of Somerville, Albert Routh Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, of Florida and Eleanor Crandell of Augusta.
He was predeceased by his father; a brother, Billy Joe Bonefant; and his grandparents, Eleanor Ruth Minoty and Albert Routh Sr.
