GREENVILLE, S.C. – Charles E. Hardy, 83, of Greer, S.C., his Savior called him home on Dec. 15. He now resides in Heaven.

He was born, April 19, 1923, the son of Clarence and Esther Hardy in Dryden. He grew up in Wilton and served during World War II in England, where he married Marie. He brought his family up in the Wilton – Jay area. He retired from G.H. Bass after 31 years when he was 62, and enjoyed square dancing for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie of Greer, S.C.; his son, Jeffrey of North Carolina; his daughter, Patricia mariner of South Carolina; two grandchildren, Dana Dill of South Carolins and Tiffany Dill of Arizona; and three great-grandchildren of South Carolina.

He was predeceased by his brother, Frank of Connecticut.
