NORWAY – Edith Morey, 81, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 17, at the Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center.

She was born Jan. 21, 1925, in Greenwood, the daughter of the late Silas and Eva (Fiske) Keniston. She graduated valedictorian of the West Paris High School, Class of 1943. On Feb. 10, 1945, she married Ivan Morey of West Paris.

She was a lifelong resident of the Greenwood area. She was a member of the West Paris Unitarian Universalist Church and a charter member of the former Ring-McKeen Legion in West Paris. When it closed, she transferred her membership to the Jackson Silver Legion in Locke Mills. She was also a life member of the Granite Chapter of Eastern Star in West Paris.

Together with her husband, she helped to develop Littlefield Beaches Campground in Greenwood in 1961. She was very proud of this accomplishment and worked there until her retirement in 1980. She was an avid fisherman and in her retirement made seven trips to Alaska along with her husband.

Edie, as she was known to many, is survived by her husband of more than 61 years as well as three daughters, Susan Stevens (George) of Mississippi, Cindy Stowe (Bruce) of New York and Kathy Stailing of West Bath; her brother, Robert Keniston of Bethel; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Kenneth Stailing.
