FARMINGTON – Elizabeth “Betty” Bailey Harriman, 88, of Lavoie Street, Jay and formerly of Windham, died on Monday, Dec. 11, at a Farmington health care facility.
She was born in Portland, a daughter of C. Winfred and Evelyn Burgess. She attended Westbrook and Windham schools and graduated from Windham High School.
She was a homemaker. She had been attending the Nazarene Church in Livermore Falls. She was a life member of the Rebekahs and a member of the Red Hats Society. She had been instrumental in the development of the town of Windham human services department.
She and her late husband, Arthur G. Harriman III had been very active in the Windham town marching band. She had also been an advisor for the Thetarho Girls Club.
Survivors include her sons, Arthur “Buzzy” Harriman of Jay, and her adopted son, Roger Harriman of Windham; one grandson, Keith W. Harriman; and several cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Robert A. Burgess.
