RUMFORD – Margaret G. Harnden, 95, of Dixfield, died Friday, Dec. 8, at the Rumford Community Home, Rumford.
She was born in Rumford on March 17, 1911, a daughter of William and Maggie May (Frost) Loggie, and had attended Dixfield schools.
She was married in Dixfield on April 23, 1944, to the late Everett R. Harnden, who died in Rumford on May 4, 1982.
She was a member of the Swasey-Torrey Post No. 100, American Legion Auxiliary; Morton-Ellis Post No. 6674, VFW Auxiliary; the Doll Sewing Group; Dixfield Senior Citizens; and the Dixfield Congregational Church.
She enjoyed crafts and knitting. She especially loved her family and was well known for baking wedding and birthday cakes.
Survivors include a son, William Harnden of South Windham; a sister, Kathleen Finethy and her husband, Carlton, of Rumford; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Carey Harnden, of Mexico.
