ROCKPORT, Mass. – Phyllis L. (O’Neil) King, 88, formerly of Lisbon Falls, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, Nov. 25, at the Den-mar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rockport, Mass.

She was the wife of the late Paul E. King, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.

She was born in South Portland on Jan. 23, 1918, to the late Richard and Winnifred (Matthews) O’Neil. She was a 1935 graduate of South Portland High School, and a former member of the Elm Street Methodist Church. She and Paul raised their family in South Portland until moving to Bethel in 1954. She had also resided in Scarborough, Topsham and Lisbon Falls.

Mrs. King was an accomplished musician and taught private piano and accordion lessons for many years. She played in many dance bands throughout the Portland area. Mrs. King enjoyed sharing her love of music with her family and friends up until her death. She also enjoyed fishing and sharing her camp with her family at Aziscoos Lake, Wilson Mills.

She will be sadly missed by her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Pauline J. Coulter, of Rockport, Mass.; five grandchildren, Julie Ciaramitaro and husband, James, of Gloucester, Mass., Deborah Ciaramitaro and friend, Gary Young, of Templeton, Mass., Kristin Teele and husband, Ronald, of Harwich, Mass., Bruce Diehl and wife, Diane, of Ware, Mass., and Brian Diehl and wife, Julie, of Andover, Mass.; and seven great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Glass, of South Portland; her son-in-law, William Diehl, of Lisbon Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Geraldine Diehl; and son-in-law, Frederick Coulter.
