AUBURN – Funeral services were held Tuesday for Norman J. Verrill Sr. at the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham and Son. The Rev. Mary Beth Caffey of Pathway Community Church officiated. Songs played in remembrance of Norman included “The Name of the Lord,” “Lift up your Countenance” and “My Savior, My God” by Aaron Shust. Memories of Norman were shared by his grandson, Justin Verrill and his brother, Carrolous Verrill Jr. The Rev. Caffey also shared many stories that were given to her by family members. Committal services followed at Upper Gloucester Cemetery, where our country’s flag was presented to Norman’s daughter, Cheryl Haley by the Rev. Caffey in honor of her father’s service in the Air Force. Pallbearers were Justin Verrill, Matthew Potratz, Carrolous Verrill Jr., Norman Verrill Jr., Wilmont Herrick, Jerry Grant, Walter Herrick and Steve Verrill. Honorary bearer was Norman’s friend, Tucker. A reception was held after services at Norman’s house in Lewiston.
