Sabattus – Irene Claire (Ouellette) Harvey, 55, died unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, Nov. 11.
She was born in Lewiston to Claire Ouellette of Lewiston and the late Camille Ouellette of St. Francis. She received her nursing degree at Youville Hospital in Cambridge, Mass., and later worked many years for St. Louis Church in Fort Kent, where she resided for a large part of her life, as director of youth ministry.
Her love of kids was reflected in her altruism. She helped, hugged and provided nonjudgmental support to many youth. Her door was always open and she loved them all. Later she moved back to Lewiston, where she took care of her mother, whom she loved very dearly.
She is survived by her daughters, whom she lived for, Kimmarie Harvey, and her boyfriend, Joel Hartman and Kathy A. Harvey-Brown, and husband, Casey, all of South Portland; four brothers, Albert Ouellette of Manchester, N.H., Robert Ouellette, and wife, Doris, of Greene, Denis Ouellette, and wife, Elaine, of Lewiston and Marc Ouellette, and wife, Deborah, of Norwich, Conn.; an aunt, Monica Jandreau of St. Francis; many other aunts; her companion dog, “Rush”; uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and friends.
Her laugh will not be forgotten and neither will she.
