BRUNSWICK – Lucien “Lefty” Thibault, 80, of Ledgemere Road, Orr’s Island, and formerly of Lewiston and Auburn, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 29, at Bodwell Rehab with his wife, Irene, son, Jayson and girlfriend, Hollie Crowell, Jeanne David, Jon Gagnon and Mark and Mimi Walton at his side. Lefty had been very ill with cancer for almost two years.

He was born April 16, 1926, in Lewiston, the son of Alice (Lemieux) Thibault and Joseph Thibault. As a young man, he loved to play baseball. As a talented pitcher, he was given the nickname “Lefty,” which was how he was known by most throughout his life. He worked at Shulte’s Haberdashery for 10 years.

He owned the Priscilla Casino, Maine Aluminum Company, MAC Builders and in 1966, he and Irene started Glamour Pools and Spas Inc., where he worked through his last days.

He loved playing pool and golf and enjoyed woodworking. He was an exceptional dancer and he belonged to several social clubs throughout the years, including being a lifetime member of the Elks Club. He also enjoyed being with family and friends, especially at his home on the water in Orr’s Island and at his home in New Port Richey, Fla.

He is survived by his loving wife, Irene Thibault, whom he was married to for 37 years; a son, D. Jayson Thibault, and his girlfriend, Hollie Crowell, of Orr’s Island; daughter, Lisa (Caron) Aube, and husband, Roger, of Riverview, Fla.; daughter, Paula (Caron) Malin of Sarasota, Fla.; four grandchildren, Raven and Mason Aube and Austin and Gregory Malin; close cousins, Normand and Arlene Bolduc of Warwick, R.I.; and several nieces and nephews in Quebec, Canada; and many friends.

He was predeceased by his sister, Rita Beherer in September 2005; and by his mother, Alice Thibault on Jan. 22 of this year, at age 103.
