AUBURN – Nathaniel “Nate” Allan Doane, 29, of Poland, died Saturday, Nov. 4, at Hospice House surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Lewiston, on July 8, 1977, the son of Allan and Betty Ann Rideout Doane.

He attended schools in Mechanic Falls and Lewiston.

He loved playing cards and numerous Playstation2 video games. He was a lifetime member of the Doane Family Association and was an avid cribbage player.

On Jan. 31, 2004, he married Jessica Frank of Poland.

Survivors include his wife, of Poland; a daughter, Azure Rowan Doane, of Poland; a stepdaughter, Aura Foster of Norway; his father, Allan, of Lewiston; a sister, Alethea and her husband, Arlie Thompson, of Mechanic Falls; and a niece and nephew, Dominick and Marie Thompson, of Mechanic Falls; and many aunts, uncles and cousins from Maine to Florida.

He was predeceased by his mother, Betty Ann.
