SOUTH PARIS – Roy W. Knight, 86, of Greenwood, died Oct. 18, at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris.
He was born at Franklin, Ind., on Dec. 20, 1919, the son of James S. Knight Sr. and Myrtle E. (Settles) Knight.
He lived in Morgantown, Ind., until entering the military service in 1940. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict.
He moved to Maine in 1958, and lived in South Paris, Norway and South Waterford. After marring Norma L. Martin in 1963, he lived in Greenwood for 43 years.
He was employed at A.C. Lawrence in South Paris, until leaving to attend carpentry school at NMVTI in Presque Isle, graduating in 1971. He was a member of Carpenters Local 407 of Auburn, until retiring. He was also a member of the VFW Post 11363 of Bethel.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Knight, of West Paris; a son by a previous marriage, Charles of Indianapolis, Ind.; and one brother, Robert, of South Paris.
