LEWISTON – Joyce E. Hartman, 62, of Pine Street, Rumford, died Saturday, Oct. 14, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Portland on Feb. 10, 1944. She graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1962, and had attended Pasadena City College, in Pasadena, Calif.

Joyce worked as data entry operator at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice in Rumford for several years and retired early due to ill health.

Joyce loved music. In her younger years, she would sing duets at family gatherings. She was a movie buff and could easily identify actors and the characters they played. When she lived at the Muskie Building, she enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels. But most of all, Joyce loved praying for people. Because she was in tremendous pain, she understood the needs of others.

Survivors include two daughters, Holly Whittemore and husband, James, of Rumford and Heidi Robbins of Ithaca, N.Y.; a sister, Nancy Harvey of Rumford; a brother, Brian Harvey and wife, Susanne, of Rumford; and four grandsons, Joshua Robbins of Ithaca, N.Y., Adam and Levi and Patrick Skelley of Canton, Ohio.

She was predeceased by her parents, Pearl and Norman Harvey; and a sister, Gail Smith.
