AUBURN – Eva Chase Anten, 98, of Auburn, passed away early Friday morning, July 28, at Clover Living Center in Auburn.
She was born in Rumford on March 23, 1908, the daughter of Joseph and Stella V. Chase. She worked in her family’s clothing store in Rumford before moving to the Lewiston/Auburn area, where she worked for several service industries.
She ended her working career with more than 20 years of service with Benoit’s Clothing.
She was a member of Beth Abraham and Temple Shalom Synagogues, as well as a 50-plus-year member of B’nai B’rith.
She is survived by two sons, Harold P. Anten and wife, Marge, of Norfolk, Va., and Earle Gerald Anten and wife, Linda, of Cucamonga, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, most fondly, Sherri Clark of Lewiston and Sandi Brown of Portland.
