BOWDOIN – Hoyle Williams Jr., 72, of Bowdoin died Thursday, July 20, at his home following a long illness.
He was born in Hearne, Texas, on Dec. 11, 1933, the son of Hoyle and Elsie (Robertson) Williams.
Hoyle served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1972 and remained as a reservist until his retirement from military service in 1982.
Following his military career, Hoyle worked for many years during the summers for the Harry C. Crooker Co. in Brunswick as an equipment serviceman, and worked in the winters at the Brunswick N.A.S. snow plowing until 1994.
He is survived by his life companion, Rosalind A. Brann, of Bowdoin; two sons, Hoyle Williams III and Coy T. C. Williams, both of Bowdoin; a daughter, Sandra L. Fitch of Chicago, Ill.; his brothers, Arthur Lewis of Oklahoma City, Okla., and George Williams of Midland, Texas; his sisters, Willie Mae Lewis, Myrtle Bernard and Cecil Ausbie, all of Houston, Texas; two grandsons; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Elsie Burlson; and his brother, Gene Williams.
