LEWISTON – Henry L. Poulin, 88, of 423 Meadowview Park, Lewiston, died Wednesday, July 19, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born in St. Camille de Belle Chase, Canada, on Nov. 5, 1917, the son of Joseph and Delina (Giroux) Poulin and had been a resident of this community most of his life.

He married the former Loretta Champagne on Jan. 21, 1937. She died on June 2, 2001.

He was employed as a carpenter for many years and also worked in local mills until his retirement.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II.

Henry was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a best friend to all who knew him.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 22 and of Saints Peter and Paul Church.

He is survived by seven daughters, Jacqueline Poulin of Lewiston, Irene Fecteau of Greene, Theresa Vachon of Auburn, Joan Kasper of Olympia, Wash., Lena Eells of Portsmouth, N.H., Claire Brown of Augusta, and Suzanne Poulin of Litchfield; two sons, Richard Poulin of Aspen, Colo., and Donald Poulin of Greene; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who all loved him dearly; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two daughters, Anita Runningham and Laura Beaulieu; one son, Michael Poulin; and many brothers and sisters.
