LEXINGTON, S.C. – John P. Libby, 41, passed away on July 2, unexpectedly in Lexington, S.C., where he lived for the last five years.

He was born on May 11, 1965, in Presque Isle. He was a graduate of Leavitt Area High School in 1984. He was employed by Pioneer Plastics for 11 years and American Spiral Weld of South Carolina for four years. He was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Elliott Libby of Lexington; his parents, Joe and Sandra Libby of Leeds; two brothers, James Libby of Lewiston and Jason Libby of Auburn; two sisters, Kathy Libby and Macinda Libby Porter of Leeds; stepdaughter, Ashley Sims; stepsons, Chris Sims and Scott Sims of West Columbia, Michael Sims and his wife, Chrissy, of Lexington, S.C.

He was predeceased by a brother, Joe Richard Libby Jr.
