AUBURN – JoAnn Small Mogensen, died in Auburn, Monday, July 3, after a seven month battle with cancer.
She was born April 2, 1930, in Pittsfield, N.H. She was one of 13 children born to John and Florence Small.
She worked for the state of Connecticut for 30 years retiring as the executive director of the State Employee’s Retirement System, and subsequently retiring as executive director of the town of Killingly Housing Authority in Connecticut.
She is survived by her son, Mark Mogensen, a grandson, Max Mogensen and a granddaughter, Hanna Mogensen, all of Auburn; her granddaughters, Tiffany Bretschger of Florida, Sara Seidelmann of Ohio and Crystal Bretschger of New York; and eight siblings, Marjorie Small Fulton, Christine Small Avery, Virginia Small DeLisle, Shirley Small Noyes, Rachel Small Wade, Nancy Small Anderson, Elizabeth Small Ascani, and Eliot John Small.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Cherrill Bretschger.
