RUMFORD – A Memorial Mass for Sidney Sassi was celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, June 30, at St. Athanasius & St. John Catholic Church.

The Rev. Angelo LeVasseur was the celebrant, assisted by Deacon Rod Berger. Mark Belanger was the organist.

Music selections were “If I Only Knew,” “Amazing Grace” and “Ave Maria.” Readings were done by Joe Sassi and Ryan Kerr. The eulogy was written by Bruce Bulger and was offered by Connie Porter.

Pallbearers were Alyson and Brenna Byard, Ellery Porter Jr. and Terry Rowe. Interment followed in St. John Cemetery with committal prayers offered by Deacon Rod Berger.

A reception followed at the American Legion in Rumford.

Services were under the care of S.G. Thibault Funeral Home, 250 Penobscot St., Rumford.
