Rumford – Isabelle “Belle” Nadeau passed away peacefully on June 20, after a short but very courageous battle with brain cancer. During her last days, she was surrounded by her five children.
Belle was born Dec. 15, 1926, in Rumford, a daughter of Wilfred and Ida (Lemay) Richard.
She was a communicant of St. Athanasius and St. John Catholic Church.
She was married to Raymond P. Nadeau on Nov. 11, 1946, and they remained married until his death in December 1999.
Her pride and joy was her family. She was extremely proud of her five children and was so excited each time her family grew. She was proud to be a stay-at-home mom. She was an avid Red Sox fan and over the years she enjoyed bowling, playing cards, traveling and playing bingo. She made many friends through these activities and always cherished these friendships. Recently, she made many close and wonderful friends in her apartment building.
She is survived by her four daughters and their husbands, Carol and Gary Tuttle of Lebanon, Patti and Dennis Anglea of East Waterboro, Paula and Bruce Harting of Canton and Pam and Barry of Rumford; a son and his wife, David Nadeau and Carol St. Amand of Presque Isle; 11 grandchildren, Tammy Dery, Shari Ferguson, Eric Arsenault, Anik and Nicole Nadeau, Jamie and Jason Worthley, Kevin and Kristi Harting, and Ian and Kera Miller; seven great-grandchildren, Izik Dery, Tyler Lizotte, Hunter Tierney, Ayden Arsenault, McKayla O’Brien, Logan Worthley and Jayson Harting; three brothers, Al Richard of Rumford, Eddie Richard of Sabattus and Don Richard of New Sharon; two sisters, Irene Gallant of Rumford and Susie Fournier of Mexico.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Omer, Leonard and Maurice Richard; and one sister, Yvette “Blondie” McKenna.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family will keep her close in their hearts forever.
