WEST PARIS – Eugene O. Blaisdell, 76, died Monday, June 19, at the Ledgeview Living Center. He was a resident of Mill Street, Dixfield.

He was born in Dixfield, on Oct. 26, 1929, a son of Urban and Ellen (Hodge) Blaisdell, and graduated from Dixfield High School, Class of 1948.

He was employed as a machine tender of the paper machines at Boise Cascade Paper Co. in Rumford for more than 44 years until retirement in 1992.

He was a member of the Dixfield High School Alumni; served on the school board for more than 25 years; member of the Boise Cascade Paper Co. 25 and 40-Year Club; member of the Dixfield Congregational Church, where he was very active on church committees and church choir; and he loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening.

He was married in Dixfield on Oct. 28, 1949, to Rachel L. Fuller, who died in Portland on Oct. 13, 1980.

Survivors include a daughter, Joy Bradbury and husband, Clinton, of Peru; three sons, Scott Blaisdell and wife, Tracy, of Dixfield, Bruce Blaisdell and wife, Carla, of Melbourne, Fla., Jay Blaisdell and wife, Melinda, of Lincoln, N.H.; seven grandchildren, Chris and Michael Blaisdell of Melbourne, Fla., Kim Micks of Peru, Ryan and Derek Robbins of Dixfield, Keenan and Colby Blaisdell of Lincoln, N.H.; two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Gavin Micks of Peru.

He was predeceased by a brother, Urban Blaisdell; and a sister, Constance Blaisdell.
