AUBURN – Juliette M. (Lavallee) Vallee, 70, born June 5, 1936, of Auburn, passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her husband, children, siblings, grandchildren, and many other loving family members, after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer.

She was the daughter of Azellus (Pete) Lavallee and Olivia Deojay. When she was 8 years old her father remarried to Alice Fletcher who became her loving mother for the most important years of her life. She attended Lewiston schools and graduated from Lewiston High School with honors in 1954, and attended two years at Auburn Maine School of Commerce majoring in business.

On June 2, 1956, she married the love of her life, Robert J. Vallee who lovingly cared for her till the end, he owed her big time!

She was a past president of the Lewiston/Auburn Credit Women’s Association. As her children grew she became active in Brownies, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and was a past president of the Lewiston/Auburn Youth Cheerleaders Association.

Before her retirement in 2002, she worked as an office manager for Steve Fortier at The Village Sweep for several years and was beneficial in operation of company vehicles, holding ladders and keeping the “boys” in line. She was later employed at Holy Trinity Parish in Lisbon Falls as the parish office administrator doing all the duties required to run three parishes, where she also made many special lifelong friends.

She had an essential role in the transition of the three churches merging as one. She enjoyed her summer residence in South Harpswell immensely, where she was fortunate enough to be able to celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary with many close family members and friends, which was also her last visit to her most special place. The only place that could top Harpswell is her new residence… Heaven.

Her many loves were gardening, reading, custom knitting, crocheting and arts and crafts. She was a previous co-owner of the Village Inn Restaurant in Auburn with her husband Robert and Norman and Connie Vallee for a number of years. She was also co-owner of Kozy Korner Kustom Knitting in Auburn with Linda Litchfield. She also taught and sold ceramics and Aertex with many other interests.

Her greatest joy in her life was her family. She loved nothing more than spending time with her entire family over the holidays and at her summer residence in Harpswell. She was the most kind, loving, loyal, selfless and giving person who instilled her values, wisdom, love, understanding, patience, and thoughtfulness in her children’s lives and all others who were blessed to know her. She was always there for others in their time of need and her warm and kind smile will never be forgotten.

Surviving are her loving husband, Robert of 50 years; her children, Diane M. Labonte and husband, James H. Labonte, of Auburn, Robert J. Vallee Jr. and Sallie Hackett of Auburn, Michelle N. Vallee of Lewiston and Nicole M. Vallee of Lewiston; her mother, Alice (Fletcher) Lavallee; grandchildren, Richard A. Labonte, Jamie L. Labonte, Danielle N. Labonte, Angelique (Angel) M.
