AUBURN – Isadore “Stan” S. Shaban, 92, of Pinewoods Road, Lisbon, passed away on June 6, at the Hospice House.
He was born June 4, 1914, in Lewiston the son of Lithuanian immigrants Stanislovas and Mary Matas (Shaban) Sabanas. Stan started his career working at the Pepperell Mill in Lewiston and finished his longtime career as a custodian with the Lewiston School Department. He married Marguerite P. Shaban in Lewiston Oct. 16, 1943. He was a faithful Catholic and a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Church, St. Anne’s Church and Holy Trinity Church.
He enjoyed his daily exercise routine, spending time at Popham Beach, fishing, hiking, horses and animals. He was a member of the Laski Ski Club and an avid skier. He was a very social person who also enjoyed meeting and talking with people and loved children. He was devoted to his wife and family. He was a great father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane Peseckis Ford and her husband, Bartolo, of Lisbon; his granddaughter, Lana Woodcock and her husband, Scott, of Portsmouth, N.H.; and his great-granddaughter, Nastasya Woodcock of Portsmouth, N.H.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marguerite Shaban in 1989; parents; and sister Mary Shaban.
