NORTHPORT, N.Y. – Richard J. Belanger, 55, formerly of Monmouth, passed away on Thursday, March 16.
He was born on June 26, 1950, the son of Jean and Irene Belanger of Sabattus. He graduated from Lewiston High School and the University of Southern Maine. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He worked at Supreme Slipper for many years and also as a crisis counselor at New Beginnings. He enjoyed going to flea markets, playing bingo and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by two sons, John and his wife, April, of Lewiston and Jeremy of Lewiston; one daughter, Debbie Jewett and her husband, Dana, of Northport, N.Y.; three granddaughters, Courtney and Ciera of Lewiston and Emily of Northport, N.Y.; one grandson, Justin; one brother, Larry Belanger and his companion, Donna Crowley, of Monmouth; two aunts, Lucy Belanger of Lewiston and Lorette and Uncle Bill of Sabattus; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
