LEWISTON – Carol Ann Hunnewell, 63, of 1176 Lisbon St., Lewiston, died Wednesday, March 9, at her residence after a long illness.

She was born in Boston on Sept. 10, 1942, the daughter of Dimitri and Josephine Margarita. A graduate of Deering High School, she moved to Lewiston and was employed as a lab technician at Central Maine Medical Center from 1972 until her retirement due to ill-health in 1995.

She was an active and devoted member of South Lewiston Baptist Church, taking part in many different church activities. She had a lifelong love of music, and was a member of the Billy Ray Cyrus Fan Club, traveling to other states and Canada to attend his concerts.

Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Jones of Lewiston, and Laurie Jones and longtime companion, Jeffery Hart of Greene; a brother, William Margarita and wife, Cheryl, of Enfield, Conn.; five grandchildren, Jason, Joseph, and Christopher Jones, and Tyler and Matthew Lavoie; a great-granddaughter, Cassandra Jones; and two nieces, Elisa and Jennifer Margarita.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Herbert L. Jones in 2001; and her second husband, Stanley Hunnewell Jr. in 1996.
