NORWAY – Edythe W. Puglia, 86, of Otisfield died Friday, Feb. 17, at Stephen Memorial Hospital with her daughter and son-in-law by her side.
She was born in Everett, Mass., June 6, 1919, the daughter of Howard and Marion Whittum. She graduated from Newton High School and the Massachusetts School of Physiotherapy completing both X-ray technology and physical therapy. Later in life, she went back to school and received her LPN at CMTC in Auburn.
She worked for many years at the Andrews Nursing from its inception in the early ’60s.
After retiring, she and her husband, Alfred, enjoyed traveling all over the United States, wintering in Florida and spending the summers on Thompson Lake in Otisfield. After Mr. Puglia’s death, she went to live with her daughter, Marion and son-in-law, Roger Saucier in Otisfield.
She is survived by her daughter, Marion; three grandsons; and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held in the spring.
