AUBURN – Hilda O. Allen, 85, of 85 Caron Lane, died Saturday, Jan. 28, at Odd Fellows Home.

She was born in Harrison on Jan. 22, 1921, the daughter of John and Anna Ervasti Ojala.

She was married July 3, 1951, to Warren G. Allen, who predeceased her on Aug. 23, 1997.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a CNA at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Finnish-American Heritage Society.

She enjoyed cookouts, family reunions, playing Scrabble, attending harness racing events with her sisters, beano and was an avid Red Sox fan.

She is survived by two sisters, Ada Williams of Manchester, N.H., and Laina Huotari of Auburn; numerous nieces and nephews; and several cousins in Finland.

She was predeceased by her husband; four sisters, Mary, Anne, Lempi and Linda; and two brothers, Ernest and Matti.
