SOUTH PARIS – Bertrand “Bert” R. LaValliere, 73, died at the Maine Veteran’s Home early Tuesday morning, Jan. 24.

He was born in Lewiston on Jan. 12, 1933, the son of Romeo and Alice Giroux Lavalliere. Mr. LaValliere served his country as a Sergeant in the Air Force in 1951.

He was a teacher and taught in Clinton, Oxford and Scarborough schools. Mr. LaValliere traveled all over the USA and Canada. He loved to fish, hunt and go camping in the great Canadian Rockies and Alaska.

Surviving are his sister-in-law, Colombe LaValliere, of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Paul and Gerard; and a sister, Jeanne.
