LEWISTON – Caroline E. Keates, 86, formerly of Elm Street, Sabattus, died Saturday, Jan. 7, at Marshwood Nursing Facility.

Born in Sabattus on Aug. 28, 1919, she was the daughter of George and Sadie (Barton) Keates. She was educated in Sabattus, and graduated from Sabattus High School in 1937.

She worked for Sears Roebuck as a sales clerk for almost 45 years.

She was a member of the Community Free Baptist Church in Sabattus, and also a member of the Christian Fellowship Class and American Baptist Woman’s Ministries.

She leaves Donald and Amy Therrien and their two children, Dalton and Lydia, all of Sabattus; and other family and friends.
