LEWISTON – Donatien J. Michel, 86, of 70 Blake St., died Wednesday, Jan. 4, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. Born in Lewiston, April 12, 1919, a son of Antonio and Rose Chouinard Michel he was educated in Lewiston schools.

He was married to the former Marie Belanger, who died Jan. 12, 2003.

He worked at Bates Mfg. Co for 20 years and later worked as an operating room orderly at St. Mary’s Hospital for 20 years.

Mr. Michel was a member of SS. Peter & Paul’s parish and St. Peter’s Society.

He enjoyed doing photography for weddings and anniversaries and gardening.

He is survived by a son, Paul Michel and his wife, Rachelle, of Lewiston; five grandchildren, Mark, Tim, Shawn, Heather and Crystal; and three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Rita Michel; a son, Lucien Michel.
