SOUTH WATERFORD – Sheree Marie Fortier, 50, of South Waterford, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, at her residence, with her loving family by her side.

She was born at Maple Lane Hospital in Bridgton on July 11, 1955, to Prentiss and Edith (Tower) Kimball.

She married Fred Fortier on Nov. 9, 1973.

Sheree had worked as a legal secretary and paralegal at the law offices of Reese & Pickering in Bridgton and as a legal secretary for Neil MacKerrone and later for Jeffrey Pickering. She also had worked for 25 years as a medical assistant and secretary for Dr. Robert Spindell in Naples. She later worked for Bridgton Family Medical as a secretary and medical assistant. She helped set up Maine Orthopedics in Norway, where she became the office manager. She ended her career with Dr. Drexel Gordon in Bridgton.

She was a lifelong member of Bear Mountain Grange 62 in South Waterford, joining at the age of 14 and holding all the offices over the years. She remained an active member of that Grange until her death. She was an active member of the Waterford PTO and was a volunteer at the Waterford school.

She loved the outdoors, including hiking, gardening, long walks, canoeing and kayaking. She chaperoned the Waterford Youth Ski Program, of which she was assistant group leader. She loved using her Kubota tractor around her family home and was an accomplished pianist, starting playing at the age of 5. She loved entertaining her family during the holidays. She was a talented artist and loved to knit.

She is survived by her husband of Waterford; a son, Jaemi Lee Jyoti Fortier of Waterford; a sister, Doreen M. Pike of Waterford; a brother, David Kimball of Waterford; and her parents, Prentiss and Edith Kimball of Waterford.
