SOUTH PARIS – Louis J. MacDonald, 75, of South Paris, died Thursday, Nov. 24, at the Maine Veterans Home.

He was born in North Paris on Feb. 13, 1930, the son of Archie and Leah Mildred Beck MacDonald. He attended schools in Paris.

He lived in Lewiston for almost 50 years and retired from Etonic Shoe Co. in Auburn in 1982.

He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by three sons, Mark MacDonald of Elgin, S.C., David MacDonald of Sabattus and Peter MacDonald; two daughters, Paula James of Lewiston and Lesley of Methuen, Mass.; a brother, Archie MacDonald of Oxford; a sister, Mary Lou of South Paris; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
