WEST PARIS – Helen Ada Chase, 93, of Locke Mills, died Nov. 22 at the Ledgeview Living Center in West Paris.

She was born on Oct. 16, 1912, the daughter of Addie (Bennett) and Archibald Morrison in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and was educated in Lewiston schools.

She married Edward W. Chase on March 1, 1930. He died Nov. 8, 1987.

She had worked at E.L. Tibbetts, Birchvilla Inn and Ecko Wood Products. She retired in 1977.

She was a member of Locke Mills Union Church, the Ladies Circle, Woodstock Senior Citizens and the Franklin Grange.

She liked to cook, loved to have her grandchildren and great-grandchildren around and enjoyed family get-togethers. She also liked to garden. In her younger years, she raised chickens, rabbits, ducks, turkeys, pigs and cows. Helen also liked to sew.

She is survived by one son, John Chase and his wife, Leatrice, of Locke Mills; one daughter, Arlene Greenleaf and her husband, John, of Bethel; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Vera Morrison.

She was predeceased by her parents, one sister, and two brothers.
