WILTON — A tractor-trailer jackknifed across Routes 2 and 4 on Tuesday morning, blocking traffic for about an hour.

Wilton Police Officer Brian Lynch said roads were slippery and apparently the driver, Jamarson Aurelien of Hartford, Connecticut, was driving a little fast for conditions.

The Freightliner, headed to Poland Spring Water Co. in Kingfield, came down Burgess Hill and through the Route 156 intersection at about 8:20 a.m. and slid across the road, he said.

There were no injuries and no other vehicles were involved.

No charges were filed.

The truck, owned by Schneider National Inc., was damaged but was operable.
