LEWISTON — Augustina Patricia Ponte, 92, of Lewiston died Tuesday, Feb. 14, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center surrounded by family.

She was born in Somerville, Mass., on Oct. 10, 1924, a daughter of the late Martin and Maria (de Jesus) Camacho.

Augustina was a former member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. She was a passionate letter writer and loved to send letters and cards to family, friends and pen pals.

She leaves her two sons, John Jr. of Hebron and Gregory and wife, Donna, of West Gardiner; a brother, the Rev. Angelo Camacho of New Haven, Conn.; two grandchildren, John Glenwood and Hannah Lu of Hebron; and great-grandsons, Justin Jade Fernands and Emerald Ponte.

She was predeceased by brothers, Manuel Camacho, Julio Camacho, Martin Camacho and Henry Camacho; and sisters, Virginia Barnes, Mary Tudisco, Deolinda Camacho, Beatrice Domings and Inez Cote.
