NORWAY – Ernest Edmund “Joe” Brown Sr., 78, of South Paris, died Thursday, Oct. 13, at Stephens Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Hartford on July 14, 1927, the son of Joseph and Clara M. Dyer Brown. He spent most of his childhood in Sumner and Buckfield.
He joined the U.S. Marine Corps on Sept. 28, 1945. He worked at local factories and in the woods. He retired from C.B. Cummings.
His hobbies were fishing and hunting, and spending time with his dog, Duke.
He is survived by his children, Dawn Lee of North Carolina, Roberta and James Zinchuck of Oxford, Robyn and Tom Cary of Oxford, Heidi and Dan Tracy of South Paris, and Ernest Brown Jr., of South Paris; two stepchildren, Eldon Bartlett and Sally Bartlett; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine Brown; a son, James Brown; a granddaughter, Wendy Tracy; and a stepson, Andrew Bartlett.
