AUBURN – Therese M. Dubuc, 90, died late Monday evening, Sept. 26, at Bolster Heights Residential Care Facility with family at her side.
Born Dec. 1, 1914, in Rogersville, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of Sigefroid and Helene (Poirier) Dumont. She obtained her nursing degree in Montreal and relocated to Lewiston when she married Leopold Dubuc in 1954. She later resumed her nursing career at St. Mary’s General Hospital where she worked until her retirement in 1982, so she could care for her husband, who died in December 1985.
She was a communicant of Holy Cross Church in Lewiston, where she attended Mass regularly until her illness.
She leaves her two daughters, Elaine Labbe and her husband, Raymond, and their daughter, Raelane of Auburn, and M. Liane Jalbert and her husband, Michael, and their son, Travis of Lewiston, and daughter, Stephanie Jalbert of Manchester, N.H; her deceased husband’s son, Maurice Dubuc and wife, Annette, and family; as well as Pauline Dubuc Dionne and family. She has many cousins, nieces and nephews living in Canada, two of whom remained in close contact with her, Lucie Dumont Rivard and her husband, Sonny, and their son, Darcy, and Jean Robert and his wife, Gisele, and their daughter, Julie. She had a loving roommate, Rolande Binette, and an extended family with the staff who cared for her in recent years at Bolster Heights Residential Care Facility. Her greatest enjoyment after retirement was her time spent with her grandchildren, Stephanie, Travis and Raelane. She would never refuse a card game of “Old Maid” or “Sorry” with her grandchildren.
