FARMINGTON — Police said five deer were struck and killed by vehicles in less than five hours Thursday evening.
None of the drivers were injured, Bonnie Pomeroy, office manager at Farmington Police Department, said.
At 5:15 p.m., Leanne Dickey of Anson was driving on the New Vineyard Road near the self-storage units when a deer ran in front of her car, which had minimal damage.
At about 6 p.m., Audrey Guptill of Wilton was driving near 172 Town Farm Road when she hit a deer. Damage to her 2002 GMC Jimmy was over $1,000.
At about 6:30 p.m., Fred Dearnley of New Vineyard was driving near 387 New Vineyard Road when a deer stepped in front of his 2015 Toyota RAV 4.
And at about 9:30 p.m., a Fabian oil truck driven by Timothy Murphy of Augusta hit two deer on the New Vineyard Road.
Damage to Dearnley’s SUV and the oil truck was over $1,000 each.
Officers Michael Lyman and Jesse Lement responded to the accidents.
