HAMPDEN — Gregory T. Hunt died on Thursday, March 16, at his residence in Hampden.

Greg was born in Rumford on Sept. 23, 1955, the son of James and Patricia (Farrar) Hunt. He graduated from Rumford High School in 1974 and from Kennebec Valley Technical School in 1975.

Greg married his best friend, Peggy Powell, on July 17, 1976.

In January 1976, Greg started work at Chadwick-BaRoss in Bangor, where he was employed for 27 years. Greg was highly respected by the customers of Chadwick-BaRoss and was frequently requested by the customers to be the mechanic assigned to the job. Greg also worked at Nortrax and CMD Power Systems.

Greg was a past master of the Ralph J. Pollard Lodge No. 217 in Orrington, a member of the Anah Shriners, and a member and officer of the Construction Equipment Maintenance Association. At the time of his death, he was a member of the East Orrington Congregational Church. Greg loved fishing, gardening, NASCAR and cooking for everyone.

Greg is survived by Peggy; his parents; and his sisters, Lori and Mickey Feeley and Leslie and Mark Barton, and their son Zachary; his brother, Briant; and his brother Gary’s children, Jill and Dustin Hunt; as well as members of Peggy’s family.

Greg was predeceased by his brother, Gary; and his grandparents, Frank and Amy Farrar and Ezra and Winifred Hunt.
